Cat Skiing with Monashee Mountain Cats

For a long time I’ve known a friend of mine, Stefan, was going to be going up to Revelstoke to do a day of cat skiing, and was extremely jealous. The Thursday night before he went we were having a few beers when he got a phone call that someone had backed out from the trip. Good timing for me! Here are two panoramas of the group, one while waiting for the snow-cat on the road after one of our runs, and the other inside the cat.

Even though it’s only my second, it was already my last of the year. I sat and sorted through my schedule for Saturday, and managed to work it out so that I would be able to get out for a ski before having to jump on a plane to Toronto.

My first ski tour of the season, up behind the Mount Seymour ski area. While there seemed to be lots of fresh snow, the base was still pretty thin so we didn’t get much real skiing in. A great hike though, amazing views, and good to finally get out!
